Ventana Canyon This
resort, which was named to "GOLF Magazine's" 1998 list of "Silver
Medal Resorts," features two outstanding eighteen hole courses. Both are
desert-style, target courses. The Mountain Course has many changes in elevation
and several elevated tees. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 7th
"Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. "GOLF Magazine"
selected it 44th best under the 1998 category of "Top 100 Courses You Can
Play in the U.S." The Canyon Course is more level, but no less difficult.
"Golf Digest" rated this as the 19th "Best in State" course
for 1995-96. Putting on either course is a challenge because the greens are
undulating. The public is allowed to play the Mountain Course on even days of
the month, and the Canyon Course on the odd days. These courses were the site of
the Pro-Am tournament for the PGA and LPGA Tour's Tucson Open. The finals for

Characteristics: 36 holes surrounded by natural open spaces, nature trails, lots of native wildlife, and spectacular views from nearly every hole. Watch out for the greens. They are fast!! A trip to Tucson would not be complete without a round at Ventana!
